Against All Odds...

You do not have some divine endowment to win the Powerball lottery... Nor do I. Positive thinking is honorable, but let's face it, we all know that we don't have a snowball's chance of winning the Powerball Lottery based on luck. Yet we continue to depend on luck, throwing dollars at it which eventually add up to some serious cash. Why is that? For most of us, it's a impetuous grab at something that would be absolutely impossible to obtain otherwise. It's not likely that we will discover an oil reserve in our back yard or stumble across a life saving drug in the normal course of our workday lives. Without some transcendent interference, we're pretty much stuck where we are. Some of us believe there is some mystical force acting behind the scenes that will one day reward them for their unwavering allegiance, or that some hidden realm of consciousness will guide their ball number selections.

Mystical Sorceress

The hard reality remains that our typical returns are directly related to our efforts. In the case of predicting the Powerball results, that effort means paying attention to what's going on, or playing intelligently. The best Black Jack players in Las Vegas are not idly sitting by day-dreaming while the dealer shoots some cards at them. It requires a genuine amount of effort to rise above the system.

The odds of a big win with Powerball are nearly 300 million to 1. That's a nearly impossible hill to climb. We need to level the playing field quite a bit if we're going to have any chance with the Powerball lottery. If we buy 5 different Pick Number combinations, our 300 million to 1 odds improve to 60 million to 1. 'Definitely better but still outrageously steep. Improving our odds 30 fold would change our odds for a single bet to 10 million to 1. This can be done by buying 30 Pick sequences for each drawing and would set us back $60.00 every time we played. This could be a solid plan if we had a group of people that could pool their bets and then share the winnings.

There are a number of articles floating around the internet about how lottery players have won big by the 'power of attraction'. They claim that they pictured themselves as winners to the point that it had an actual physical influence on the drawing results. Closer to earth is the very common strategy to bet on numbers that have not come up as winners as often as other numbers. The thinking is, as in flipping a coin, if the outcomes tend to even out among the possibilities over time, then those numbers that have not been drawn as frequently as the others are due and are likely good bets. This may be a sound strategy, but it falls short as we don't know exactly WHEN these so called over due ball numbers will actually be drawn. We could spend a lot of money chasing these over due ball numbers over the course of many drawings. Eventually our numbers will come up and with luck we'll reap a very small fraction of the total amount invested.

Another way to part with our money is to go with the so called 'Numbers Wheels'. This is a method where we select a group of numbers and bet on multiple combinations of those numbers to try to cover as many variations as possible. If we initially select the wrong group of numbers, it doesn't matter how many combinations we have put together, the end result is yet another loss. There's a faction of players who believe that numbers drawn most frequently are the best bets, as if the fact that they have been previous winners has some how primed those balls for another win. Theories abound claiming that the drawings are rigged or that the weight of the ink on the balls affect the outcome of the drawings.

The thing with random numbers is that they are not as totally incomprehensible as most people believe. The deeper you look into the chaos of the numbers collection, the more certain patterns and biases become apparent. As stated by Steven Gimbel, Ph.D., Gettysburg College, ..."in examining the disorder of chaotic systems closely, we find a new order."So the question becomes, how do we examine the Powerball drawings to the point where we can get a handle on the hidden order? One obvious answer is through a system that can analyze the Powerball winning numbers history and calculate the best strategies to use when selecting our Pick Numbers. Perhaps a software system could comb through the reams of data from the previous drawings and expose methods that are generally hidden from the casual player.

Here is where we open a can of worms as there are literally hundreds of lottery game plans out there that allege their system is the best in the field. These range from web apps where the user pays a monthly fee to access a website for whatever ball numbers their system deems as likely future winning ball numbers, to software programs that are downloaded to our computers. The thing to watch for here are systems that guarantee a big win in an attempt to lure us in, as there is absolutely no way to guarantee a win short of betting on every one of the more than 292 million combinations. Most of these scams require an up front purchase and there is nothing we can do after the fact when we realize that there is no value in the product or service being offered. The other thing to look for is the transparency of the methods used. If the proposed systems' methods are cloaked in secrecy, due to what is often called "proprietary algorithms", we can be quite sure that this is a scam.

Here, I'd like to introduce you to the PawnPower Numbers Assistant, which is an analysis program that identifies Patterns and Biases that natually exist within the Powerball drawings' data. It can in fact identify the most likely Patterns of numbers to occur in any collection of random numbers. The drawings data is, after all, nothing more that a collection of random numbers itself. These Patterns can be used as templates or guides to build your Pick numbers for upcoming drawings. In spite of its universal nature, it is designed for use soley with the US Powerball games. The variables considered when piecing together a coherent strategy do not lend themselves well to being used for all lotteries. Only the most superficial of strategies can be applied to all lotteries. The Pawnpower application is completely transparent in the methods used and there are no questionable secret algorithms or cryptic formulas indiscriminately thrown together to impress the user. The common sense approach offered in this software collection of tools can be used manually for Powerball players that want complete control over the analysis or it can create automatically generated suggested Pick Numbers using the same tools for users not interested in the details. The PawnPower Numbers Assistant is intuitive and user friendly. You do not need a background in statistics or mathematics to gain insight into the analysis processes used throughout this application, although if you are performing the analysis manually, some common sense is helpful in a few of the program's modules.

The PawnPower Numbers Assistant can help us improve our odds with the Powerball lottery by as much as a factor of 30 without requiring us to purchase 30 bets. At 10 million to 1 odds for a single bet, it is not a sure thing. It is similar to the odds pool of the New York City population as compared to the US population. Which odds pool would you rather be in? If we routinely buy 5 Pick sequences when we play, our odds are now closer to 2 million to 1. Here we're starting to look at some realistic odds and it makes winning the Powerball lottery substantially more attainable.

This application is designed for desktop or laptop computers and for the US Powerball lottery exclusively. The program has very user friendly Help pages for every module that will walk you through the analysis in live animated sessions. The tools offered in this program are flexible enough to help you develop your own strategies. The app downloads with a 60 day free trial period that gives you ample time to explore its advantages risk free. If, after 60 days, you determine that this is not the system for you, simply uninstall the program and you are back where you started from. 'No sales pitches or annoying emails. That is a promise.

If you prefer playing the lottery with a 'blind faith' approach and just like to dream about how your life might change if you won, then by all means, have fun and enjoy the fantasy. Many players have won over the years with no particular strategy. After all, if 300 million people play the games, then it is not surprising when the 300 million to 1 odds pay off one very lucky individual. If, on the other hand, you've come to realize that you are helping to support a system that is unbelievably stacked against you, and you have considered giving it up entirely, but the thought of how just one win could provide the financial freedom to spend your productive days doing the sort of work or activities that you enjoy, then you may benefit from a system that can help to level the playing field. One way to improve your odds is to buy more tickets, but once the drawing has passed, the odds advantage is gone and you must reinvest the extra amount every time you play to maintain the same odds benefit. It gets very expensive very quickly. With a system that improves your odds by working with the data to weed out unlikely Patterns and lean towards those biases that are naturally found in the winning numbers from the past, you can realize the improved odds every time you play without having to invest a small fortune in Powerball lottery bets.

So enjoy the games and good luck.
